I want to instal Windows XP Pro but first I need to remove Windows 2000 Pro. Can't seem to find a way to format drive

Dell did not ship a Windows XP CD with my laptop and now I need to format the hard drive and re install everything. What are my options? Can I copy the operating system onto a CD? I checked the Dell website and could not find anything.

Heres the problem my DVD drive will not work read or anything and I need to reinstall windows to fix this but how can I do this. I have tried hooking up both a external DVD and a external floppy and not even that works as the PC wont see them so does anybody know of any software that I can download to my second hard drive so that I can format windows from there like the old days.

I puchased a Rosewill 2.5" enclosure and put in a hard drive taken out of my old laptop that still has data on it. When I plug the enclosure into the USB, it says it recognizes the device, but will never show it in My Computer. I know the hard drive works because it still functions in the old laptop. Do enclosures only accept blank formatted drives or did I buy a lemon?
